Val Thorens project: professional immersion

Students at Master at Crews recently took on a major challenge: responding to a call for tenders issued by Val Thorens, an iconic ski resort in the Alps. For a month, they put their project management and marketing skills to work to develop a multi-channel campaign to effectively promote the resort's activities, partners and events throughout the season.

An immersive professional mission

The project, structured around several key stages, aimed to immerse the students in a real-life professional situation. Here are the instructions they had to follow:

  • Produce a complete response to the call for tenders, including a detailed sales action plan.
  • Oral presentation of their proposal to a panel of judges.
  • Deadlines: a written dossier due on Thursday November 7 at 11:59 pm, followed by an oral presentation on Friday November 8.

These constraints allowed us to recreate an authentic experience, with tight deadlines and concrete challenges.

The challenge: convincing through quality and relevance

The main aim of the project was multi-faceted:

  • Identify the real needs of Val Thorens and its visitors.
  • Propose a solution tailored to demand that is both realistic and ambitious.
  • Convincing the jury with a well-crafted response, both in terms of content and form.

Val Thorens' request was clear: the resort wanted a powerful multi-channel system to guarantee its visibility at all strategic points, both online and on-site (lifts, bus stops, accommodation, restaurants, etc.), throughout the winter season.

The students' key proposals

The students showed great creativity in responding to this call for tenders. Among the most innovative ideas were :

  • A digital badge: designed to centralize events, partnerships and practical information, it would give visitors easy access to all the activities offered by the resort.
  • A radio in the gondolas: a real-time information channel to announce events, give practical advice and enhance the user experience.
  • Improving waiting areas: transforming waiting times into opportunities for interaction and discovery, making them entertaining and informative, and enhancing the visitor experience to ensure visibility of the activities offered by the resort.

A formative and rewarding experience

By taking part in this project, the students at Master not only acquired technical and strategic skills, but also learned to work under pressure, defend their ideas and meet the expectations of a demanding customer. This immersion enabled them to prepare for the realities of the professional world, while enriching their portfolio with concrete projects.

The Val Thorens project is a perfect illustration of Crews' commitment to offering its students innovative and professionalizing educational experiences. A great success that promises to leave a lasting impression, both on the students and on the professionals who evaluated their proposals.
