A few weeks ago, our Master Digital & Tourism students were immersed for a month in an exciting tender project. Their mission was to analyze and understand the tourist destination of Beaune and the Pays Beaunois, and to draw up proposals for improvement with the aim of promoting the destination.

The customer's request concerned the implementation of the destination's 2030 vision to attract more French and international customers while maintaining a high-end positioning.

Skills targeted during this project :

  • Master watch and research techniques
  • Analyze a destination as a whole
  • Synthesize data and propose operational recommendations

The final report consisted of a dossier describing the steps taken, followed by a one-hour oral presentation by each student. The aim was to present the work and discuss it with the jury.

The jury was thus able to discover proposals developed along different lines:

  • Create packages for business travelers with all-inclusive packages;
  • Launch a marketing campaign to attract companies from the Île-de-France and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions, promoting the advantages of the destination;
  • Make Beaune and the Pays Beaunois a destination for family reunions rather than a place for passing through;
  • Offer group or family rates;
  • Attract international customers by launching a marketing campaign abroad, promoting Beaune and the Beaune region as the embodiment of France;
  • Invite foreign artists to exhibit their work in Beaune's art galleries, thereby raising the destination's international profile;
  • Extend their length of stay with promotional offers if they stay more than 3 nights;
  • Reinforce our high-end positioning by offering vineyard tours with renowned winemakers, cooking classes with Michelin-starred chefs, and private visits to castles and historic monuments.

This project enabled the students to validate skills that would be useful in the workplace, and to take a step towards obtaining their RNCP level 7 qualification.

This first tender was a real success for our Master Digital & Tourism students.
