A look back at the Future of Holidays project

During the week of the back-to-school seminar, our students gathered in the exceptional setting of Le Bourget-du-Lac to work on Design Thinking. This privileged moment enabled them to explore new collaborative and creative approaches to a major challenge: imagining the Future of Holidays.

A framework for innovation and learning

Divided into teams, our students put the key stages of Design Thinking into practice:

  1. Understanding the problem: analysis of current tourism trends and issues (overtourism, sustainability, personalization).
  2. Ideation: brainstorming original, disruptive ideas.
  3. Prototyping: designing solutions.
  4. Final defense: presentation of projects to peers and a jury of professional speakers.

Bold, innovative proposals

The fruits of their labor have given rise to concepts as ambitious as they are creative, testifying to their commitment to shaping a more sustainable, inclusive and experiential tourism. Here are the main ideas developed:

  • An AI-assisted application to prevent overtourism
  • An immersive virtual reality (VR) pre-holiday platform
  • Disconnected weed-ends offered by the company for employees
  • Brain implant that analyzes stress levels, fatigue and sensory preferences to suggest times of rest or vacation, perfectly tailored to the user's needs.
  • Renewable energy capsules

A formative and inspiring experience

The week-long seminar not only enabled students to acquire key Design Thinking skills. It also gave them the opportunity to work in teams, develop their capacity to innovate and think about concrete solutions to the major challenges facing tourism in the future.

Their final presentations impressed the jury, who praised their creativity, analytical skills andcollective commitment.

Towards a promising future

By reimagining vacations, our Bachelor and Master students are proving that digital technology and innovation can be at the service of more responsible, experiential tourism. We're proud of their work and look forward to seeing their ideas continue to germinate in their future professional achievements.

Well done to everyone for a great week of learning and sharing!
